I'm Exhausted

Bobbie and I went to work with his and Princess Weah's 4-H calf today. This morning we went to the Judd's (no not the country singers) and washed the two calves. (no not just the calves but the whole bodies).

You see they have to show their animals at a local fair on Saturday so you gotta get all the poop off and give them a hair cut so they look nice. Since Weah is away at camp and won't be home until late Friday night I took it upon myself to pretty her calf up.

We gave the calves a shower this morning and then went back after lunch when they were dry, to give them their hair cut.

Things were going really good up until the time we finished doing all these things. That's when Bobbie had to put Candy back into the pasture. Only she has recently been moved to the front pasture with the young heifers. And somebody forgot to remind her of this small detail.

She tore the halter out of Bobbies hands and headed for the the hills, Literally! We spent the next half hour chasing her back the lane.....throught the soyabeans.......through the clover......up a hill......and through the corn field. We were also able to view the cows in the back pasture and yes, they are doing well. We finally caught her halter and had to lead her......through the corn field......down the hill......through the clover......through the soyabeans........up the lane......to the front lawn......across the bridge......into the front pasture where she now belongs. Oh did I mention the burdock....I just found one stuck to my shirt.

Is it any wonder why I'm so tired. Well that's another thing I can now cross off my "to do list".

Note: this picture was taken in July and Candy is now much taller and heavier. Please pray Bobbie won't get hurt showing her at the fairs.
