Ester

Another 4-H Saturday. We started the morning with an apple 4-H meeting. We all made pies, apple of course, and did some judging of apples and pencils. This took up our whole meeting. No not together. They had to judge four apples and four pencils, seperately.

This afternoon Bobbie, Princess Weah and I went to work with their 4-H calves at their leaders home. Just as we got there it started to rain. Princess Weah had her calf on the halter so she brought her into the barn. Bobbie's calf was still in the field so we didn't brave the rain to catch her. Good thing too!! Because in 15 minutes we received 6/10 of rain. I think that means just over 1/2 inch in english. Why is rain measured in 10th's?

Princess Weah was able to work with her calf for about 20 minutes, which is long enough for the first time on a halter (for both of them). By the way the chosen name for the little Jersey is Ester. Still no picture of her though. What kind of a scrapbooking mother am I?! Perhaps, next time.
